Claire Joanne Jackson, my friend, died at only 16 years old (birthday 22nd May), on New years eve 2002. She had been suffering from Flu-like symptoms and passing out for days, then she was admitted to the RVI hospital in Newcastle. A Consultant there diagnosed Claire as having Gastroenteritis, but her condition soon deteriorated and her parents Hazel and Jack were called to the hospital. She died at 4am with her parents by her side. Her death was casued by Heart Failure due to a rare condition called Myocarditis, which is inflammation of the heart, casued by a viral infection.
Claire leaves behind her parents Hazel and Jack, sister Rachel, Grandparents Edith and Elizabeth, her boyfriend Mickey, and lots more Family and Friends who loved her so much.
Me and Claire knew each other through middle school and high school (Chapel Park and Walbottle Campus). We became better friends through Walbottle though, as we had a few of the same classes. I saw her mostly in our form Class, every morning. There were 4 of us sat on the very front row of tables, and we joked and laughed and carried on every morning (and made fun of Mr Miller!!!). Even though we were not best friends, we were still friends, and thats all that matters. Another young life has been taken too soon, but I hope this page will let people say hello, goodbye or whatever makes them feel good. The song playing is 'Hard to say I'm sorry', which was played at Claires funeral. She also has a memorial chair placed at the West Road Crematorium.

I have just spoken to Claire's mam, Hazel, eventually after trying to get in contact with her for a while! I'm glad we eventually found each other and she phoned me straight away. I hope she thinks this site is worthy of her lovely daughter Claire.

A best Friend taken so suddenly!
Claire, I have just found your site after looking at another site. I have found the last 5 years so hard without you and still find it hard to believe you will not come and knock on my door and we will go out and have a laugh as we always did. We always talked about buying our cars and driving around like little girl racers!!! Your funeral was beautiful and the song on this website reminds me so much of you because no matter what we were doing you would always put this song on as you loved it so much. Sleep well angel and take care of Tony as well im sure the two of you are having a right laugh together.

Such a lovely looking young lady .
SUCH tragic surcumstances. WE lost our Mark in February 2007 He had flu like symptons ,a doctor told us he had bronchitis and to have lost of rest . He went to bed 24hours later and fell into a coma he died 18hours after that.He had acute leukaemia.
We put our trust in these doctors .
Can understand your terrible loss and the pain you go through every day.
